The Jazz Collection

Whether you are a novice or know lots about jazz, you’ll enjoy browsing and borrowing any of the 3,000+ items devoted to the history and present day enjoyment of jazz.  The San Ramon Library Jazz Collection includes music CDs, DVDs, videos, and books both current and out-of print — including biographies and history of early jazz through today’s artists, along with local and international artists.  The collection has a strong emphasis on Duke Ellington and the Jazz Age in Paris, owing to the Smithsonian exhibit, “Beyond Category: The Musical Genius of Duke Ellington,” sponsored by the Library in 1996.   The Library also subscribes to the periodicals Jazziz, JazzEd  and Down Beat.  All items are available to borrow within the Contra Costa County Library, and are available for inter-library loan through participating “Link+” libraries in California.  Donations to the San Ramon Jazz Collection may be made through the San Ramon Library Foundation, and are gratefully received.

How to find jazz materials in the San Ramon Library Jazz Collection:
Go to ccclib.org, the Contra Costa County Library web site.
Search the “Catalog” (green bar) for “jazz.”
